Hello, my name is Daniel Susco, and today we are talking about the latest version ofthe Zoom-Zoom brand’s legendary two-seat roadster, the 2018 Mazda MX-5 Miata. Mazda has a whole list of updates for the 2018 Miata that we have over at TheNewsWheel. com,but mostly it’s making a bunch of existing features either available on more trims orstandard across the lineup, with the addition of the sweet Dark Cherry soft top and newexterior paint formulas. The Miata’s exterior looks about the same now as it did when the roadster was redesignedfor 2016, though with the addition of a hard-top model. I am still digging the KODO exterior design, though. Each 2018 Mazda MX-5 Miata is powered by a SKYACTIV-G 2. 0-liter four-cylinder engine,which makes 155 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque, which is plenty for a vehicle thatuniformly weighs less than 2,500 pounds. Not surprisingly, that compact engine is easy on the gas budget, making 26 mpg in the cityacross the board, 33 on the highway with the manual transmission, and 35 on the highwaywith the automatic. The two-seat roadster can have some seriously nice interior features added, including Recaroseats and a Bose® sound system if you are so inclined. Just make sure you can fit behind the wheel, as many reviewers say that tall drivers willlikely be cramped. At the base, the 2018 Miata comes with the expected features like front and side airbags,seat belts, and side-impact beams. It also gains advanced driver-assist systems at higher trims, including Blind Spot Monitoringand Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
